The most expensive pizza in the world

NEW YORK (Reuters) – A New York restaurateur has cooked up the most world’s most extravagant pizza — a $1,000 pizza topped with six sorts of caviar and fresh lobster.

According to WorldsRecordsAcademy.org, “Margo’s Pizzeria, a gourmet pizzeria (owner Claude Camilleri, pizzaiolo Giovanni Staiano), is selling a pizza with white truffles and 24-carat gold leaf and buffalo mozzarella over a thin, traditional crust – for 2 382.66 U.S. dollars (€1,800) – setting the new world record for the Most expensive commercially available pizza.”

Award-winning restaurateur Domenico Crolla flew from Glasgow to Rome to prepare the pizza, which was topped with edible gold, cognac-marinated lobster, venison medallions, Scottish smoked salmon, and champagne-soaked caviar.

A chef, Domenico Crolla, in Scotland has created what he believes is the world’s most expensive pizza, made from champagne-soaked caviar, lobster marinated in the finest cognac and topped with 24-carat gold shavings.

The unique difference with this pizza, that is in Japan, is the layers of crust and what is between the layers. It is a tri-tiered crusted pizza where delicious cheeses can be found tucked inside.
