The strange book of the ancient Egyptians for the guidance of the dead!

According to the Sun newspaper, pictures of the 2000-year-old papyrus of the Book of the Dead were published. In the ancient Egyptian book of the dead, there is a description of life after death. This papyrus, which is about 16 meters long and contains parts of the Book of the Dead, was discovered in Egypt last month.

Photographs released from the book show images of ancient Egyptian gods and the afterlife. Magical incantations to guide those going to the underworld are also found throughout the scroll.

Archaeologists found the ancient text inside a tomb in Saqqara, where the pharaohs were buried. This tomb belongs to a man named "Ahmose", whose name appears about 260 times in the papyrus. This ancient papyrus, which dates back to more than 2000 years ago, was probably made during the rule of the Ptolemaic dynasty in Egypt.

This discovery was announced by Mustafa Waziri, Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, in January. Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MOTA) said in a translated statement that it was the first papyrus to be fully discovered in more than 100 years.

After its discovery, this document underwent great restoration and care. After cleaning and restoring it, archaeologists translated it into hieroglyphs and Arabic. It was only after restoration that researchers discovered that the document contained texts from the Book of the Dead.

This historic papyrus is kept in the Great Egyptian Museum, which is still under construction. The museum is expected to be the largest archaeological museum in the world when completed.

The Book of the Dead

The Ancient Egyptian Book of the Dead is a loose collection of texts on papyrus. Scrolls were often placed in the coffin or burial place of the deceased. The ancient Egyptians did this in order to guide the dead using magical instructions and spells.

While this particular scroll is about 16 meters long, there are other examples of Book of the Dead papyri that are even longer and more detailed. The size of some papyrus scrolls of the Book of the Dead is about 30 meters.
