Digiato: This robot named "Sara" has a camera and can recognize the presence of people in front of it with the help of artificial intelligence.
Saudi Arabia has unveiled its first AI-powered robot that can speak Arabic. The robot was showcased at the LEAP23 technology event to interact with humans.
The LEAP23 technology exhibition hosted a robot named "Sara" that has a camera and can recognize the presence of people in front of it with the help of artificial intelligence. After recognizing humans and hearing the command "Hello Sara", this robot is able to enter into a conversation with people.
The new Saudi robot can recognize different Arabic dialects in this country and understand their content by analyzing the sentences. Therefore, he answers each question in a different way. In the following, you can see a video of this robot that can also dance.
Saudi Arabia has focused on the world of robots
In recent years, Saudi Arabia has focused a lot on the development of its robotics industry. In September 2022, this country introduced three new robots that could read the verses of the Quran and call the call to prayer. That program is part of Saudi Arabia's big strategic plan to implement the Vision 2030 plan and provide smart services to travelers in this country in 2024.
Saudi Arabia also became the first country to grant citizenship to a robot in 2017. In that year, the government of this country accepted the robot "Sophia", a product of Hong Kong's Hanson Robotics company, as a citizen and exhibited this robot at the Future Investment Initiative event in Riyadh.
A month later, Sophia called for the human rights of Saudi women to be addressed. "Sophia is a strong supporter of women's rights and the rights of all human beings," said David Hanson, CEO of Hanson Robotics at the time. This happened in a situation where women around the world criticized the granting of citizenship to this robot in a country where women did not even have the right to drive.
